Boudoir Photography for Every Body: Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity

Boudoir photography is a beautiful and empowering form of art that celebrates the beauty and sensuality of the human body. However, it’s important to recognize that not everyone feels represented in mainstream boudoir photography. Traditionally, boudoir photography has focused on cisgender, thin, and conventionally attractive bodies, leaving out many individuals who don’t fit into these narrow beauty standards.

As your boudoir photographer, it’s so fucking important to me to embrace diversity and inclusivity in my work. Here are some ways we do so at Andrea Baue Photography!

We have a welcoming and inclusive studio environment

Our studio is not only easily accessible, but we’re welcoming of people of all abilities.  We do have an elevator. This means that not only are we wheelchair accessible, but we’ve made sure it’s a safe space where you feel comfortable expressing yourself.

Offering a diverse range of posing and styling options

One of the things we pride ourselves on is offering a vast range of posing and styling options that cater to different body types, skin tones, and genders. Our client closet is size-inclusive, and ranges in 6X- XS.  We also have worked with over 200+ women over the course of our business being open – meaning we’ve worked with, and know how to, pose and flatter all different body types.

Portfolio of different body types and identities

Our portfolio is vast, and full of clients of different body types and identities. We don’t turn anyone away (unless, of course, you have an issue with inclusivity).  We pride ourselves on our ability to not only provide a safe and warm environment, but are committed to inclusivity.  With that said, you may say, “Andrea Baue Photography, why don’t I see…. In your portfolio?” Well, let me tell you why. Because while we’re committed to displaying – and working with – ALL different types of womxn; one of the most important aspects of our business is respecting privacy. Every single client you see on our website, socials, and in our VIP has signed a specific privacy agreement, granting us that permission.  We may hold copyright, but you hold the full power of what we do and don’t do with your photos.

We operate in a judgment-free zone

Y’all, we pride ourselves in understanding the importance of providing a judgment-free zone where you feel comfortable expressing yourself. I promise you, from the beginning, there is absolutely no “right” or “wrong” way to look or pose. Let go of your insecurities, and let me help you to embrace your body just as they are.

The true purpose of boudoir is to empower and uplift every single person who walks through our doors. As your photographer, it’s incredibly important to me to embrace diversity and inclusivity in my work, and strive to provide a safe and empowering space for clients of all backgrounds and identities to celebrate their bodies, one session at a time.  Are you ready to lock in for your own boudoir session?
