I’m Nervous to Book a Boudoir Session | Advice from a Minneapolis Boudoir Photographer

Let me guess.

You’ve been thinking about booking a boudoir session.

You’ve looked at the photos. You’ve imagined yourself doing it. You’ve even opened the booking page once or twice.

And then immediately thought:
“Nope. Absolutely not. I could never.”

First of all? That thought is completely normal.

As a Minneapolis boudoir photographer, I can confidently tell you that almost every single woman who walks into my studio feels nervous beforehand.

Every single one.

Nervous does not mean you’re not ready. Nervous means you’re human.

You Do Not Need to Know How to Pose

This is probably the biggest fear women have.

“What if I look awkward?”
“What if I don’t know what to do?”

You won’t need to figure anything out on your own.

I guide you through every pose, every movement, and every detail so you never feel unsure.

You are not expected to be a model.

You are expected to show up.

That’s it.

You Don’t Need to Change Your Body First

This one is important.

You do not need to lose weight.

You do not need to “tone up.”

You do not need to become a different version of yourself to deserve this experience.

The women you see in my portfolio felt the same way you do right now.

They did not feel ready.

They did it anyway.

And that’s where everything shifted.

The Client Closet and Wardrobe Consult Make It Easy

You will not be left alone wondering what to wear.

Every session includes a wardrobe consult where we talk through options, and you’ll have access to my client wardrobe closet with pieces that photograph beautifully.

You don’t need to panic-buy lingerie at midnight.

Unless you want to. No judgment.

The Nerves Fade Faster Than You Think

Most clients tell me their nerves start fading within the first few minutes.

By the middle of the session, they’re laughing.

By the end, they’re standing taller.

Not because they changed—but because they allowed themselves to be seen.

You Are Allowed to Do This for Yourself

You do not need a special occasion.

You do not need a reason.

You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to feel confident. You are allowed to exist in your body without apologizing for it.

And you are allowed to do something just for you.
